The Certificate in Advanced Welding program is for those who are seeking to expand upon their basic welding skills to an advanced comprehension of welding knowledge, proficiency and practice to meet the skills needs of manufacturing, aerospace, automotive industry, industrial fabrication, pipeline, ship building and heavy construction occupations.
Students graduate as certified technicians prepared to work in the automotive repair industry including dealerships, general repair or specialty shops. Students who successfully complete program requirements may participate in a 300-hour co-op experience. Earn either a Specialized Associate in Technology degree or a certificate.
This course is 17 weeks and designed to prepare students for careers as entry level industrial machinery and maintenance technicians. Industrial maintenance technicians keep plant machinery and equipment up and running so that production can continue with minimal downtime. Graduates of the Basic Industrial Maintenance Technology course will be able to maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment most commonly used in high-tech manufacturing facilities while adhering to safety, health and environmental rules and regulations. Funding for this program is available through a grant.
This course is 10 weeks and designed to prepare the entry level welder with the skills necessary to secure employment in the welding industry. Students are provided an overview of the five fundamentals of the welding trade: Electric Arc Welding, MIG Welding, TIG Welding, Oxygen/Acetylene Burning and Blueprint Reading for Welders. Funding for this program is available through a grant.
Prepare for a high-skill, high-wage, high demand career. This program offers courses that teach chair-side assisting and helps students gain a hands-on experience. Learn to perform a variety of duties including taking x-rays, mixing materials, passing instruments, sterilization and receptionist duties.
This course provides students with 100 hours of classroom instruction and 300 hours of hands-on learning to operate a variety of equipment including skid loaders, rollers, crawler loader, hydraulic excavator, bulldozer, backhoe, wheel loader, mini excavator and articulated dump trucks.
The demand for health care workers will increase more than all other occupations between now and 2020…Wouldn’t you like a career in the medical field? In this program, students learn how to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in the examination and treatment of patients. Learn how to take medical histories, record vital signs, explain treatment procedures and prep patients for examination, as well as perform routine office tasks.
Students are trained to assist doctors and patients administratively in physician practices, clinics, hospital, laboratories and other health service areas, The skills acquired include: scheduling patients, preparing patient records, managing financial matters, handling insurance arrangements, and processing correspondence.
Graduates will be prepared to provide a wide range of clinical skills including animal patient care, laboratory procedures, medical imaging, anesthesia administration and monitoring and surgical assistance for a variety of animals. By completing the program, students will be eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) for Licensing as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
