DISTRIBUTION ASSOCIATE

Shift: Mon-Fri 1:30pm - 9:30pm

Under general supervision, performs accurately and timely all functions associated with distribution of heavy duty class 8 truck parts. Operations including but not limited to receiving, stocking, picking, packing and shipping. These functions are to be executed in a manner consistent with stated goals and expectations. Reports to the shift supervisor.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Receiving – Accurately and productively verifies delivery bills and verifies product received. Identify compliance issues such as; overages, shortages damaged product, packaging issues and incorrect parts. Matches bar code stocking tag with corresponding parts.

  • Stocking – Accurately and productively stocks material in appropriate locations considering quantity, size, weight, volume and type of product.

  • Order Picking – Accurately and productively process customer orders selecting specified part quantities from assigned inventory locations including radio frequency. Matches bin part numbers with computer order number.

  • Packing – Accurately and productively consolidates individual customer orders, properly packing items ensuring product will not be damaged in transit to the customer. Rough carpentry performed occasionally.

  • Shipping – Accurately and productively prepares preliminary shipping documenting weight, piece count and freight classification of all product.  Ship customer orders as routed loading shipment on appropriate carrier.

  • Assists in the training of other employees. May perform other duties such as, maintenance of stocking locations, cycle counting, not-in-stock research, pre-packing, etc.

  • Regular full-time attendance essential.

  • Essential cross-training and rotation through all warehouse functions as business needs dictate.

Warehouse Workers

WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

Grade 23/24

Responsible for the direct supervision of warehouse personnel. In addition, they will coordinate all distribution center functions and perform continuous improvement projects to attain high safety, production and quality standards.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Plans operations and assigns work to warehouse associates to attain production objectives.

  • Establishes and controls procedures to meeting production schedules, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating efficiency and safe working conditions.

  • Responsible for developing, training and mentoring team members to enhance distribution center and PACCAR business knowledge.

  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions including promotions, transfers, interviewing, disciplinary measures, in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

  • Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of performance appraisals. Provides effective coaching and feedback on a regular basis to direct reports.

  • Maintains necessary records and coordinates activities with internal and external customers as necessary.

  • Proactive in promoting positive working relationships with all employees, and effectively communicating company policies and guidelines and procedures. Maintains positive attitude and promotes high team morale.

  • Manages continuous improvement projects and has an ability to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
